Confederations Cup

Final Brazil 3-2 USA
(June 28th, 2009)

The United States showed great strength in the first half leading Brazil 2-0.  However Brazil came back and came back strong with 3 goals in the second half to win the FIFA Confederations Cup Final. The United States have certainly proven they are, at the very least, a threat; which is more than they could have asked for going into the FIFA World Cup next summer. Daniel Alves Saves Brazil
(June 25th, 2009)

South Africa nearly sent Brazil into overtime.  That would have been the case if Brazil didn’t sub in Daniel Alves in the 86th minute.  Daniel Alves, after only being on the pitch for one minute, put in a beautiful free kick which sends Brazil to the Confederations Cup Final where they will meet the United States.  Catch that match live at The Pub, this Sunday at 2:30pm.  Click here for more information on the FIFA Confederation Cup.

Shocking
(June 24th, 2009)

The United States has shocked not only Spain, but the world.  With a 2-0 victory over Spain the United States make it to the Confederations Cup Final for the first time ever.  Click here for more information on the FIFA Confederation Cup.

(June 25th, 2009)

It looks as though Setanta Sports in the United States is in the Clear. However not in Europe as ESPN picked up the U.K. rights to broadcast 46 English Premier League matches this coming season. Click here for the full story. Click here for the full story.

UEFA Champions League

Barcelona are Champions of Europe
(May 27th, 2009)

Samuel Eto’o scored early to send Barcelona on their way to their third UEFA Champions League title.  Then in the 70th minute Lionel Messi sealed the deal with a spectacular header that sailed over Manchester United keeper, Edwin van der Sars head.  Barcelona have now won the UEFA Champions League three times and will defend it again next season as Lionel Messi looks for the FIFA player of the year award.
